DANCE THE DREAM

Toward a “Symphony of Brotherhood”

Top professional, student, and amateur dance companies join the general public to realize Dr. King’s “symphony of brotherhood” in over 30 cities around the world, including New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Beirut, Kabul, Houston, Seattle, Birmingham (Alabama), St. Louis, Singapore, and Sydney, Australia.

Dance the Dream is about creating a shared life-affirming experience that suggests how we can work together to inaugurate a new era of progress and possibility.

The dances are choreographed to music medleys representing the local multi-ethnic culture, including our new arrangement of Stevie Wonder’s hit, “Heaven Help Us All.” Exclusive music performances for Dance the Dream are with Usher, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Common, Joan Armatrading, Ahmir, Marlisa Punzalan, South African Youth Choir, YMCA’s Jerusalem Youth Chorus, Afghan Youth Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Los Angeles Opera, La Santa Cecilia, and Skillet.

Professional dance companies include English National Ballet, Compagnie Käfig, The Australian Ballet, Benjamin Millepied’s L.A. Dance Project, Los Angeles Ballet, Houston Ballet, Alabama Ballet, Whim W’Him, Obediah Wright Dance Company, M.A.D. Skillz Dance Company, and Stone Hope Dance Company.
